A Simple Wreath Season by Season

It all started with a naked front door and an idea.  Then a foam wreath form from Michaels ($3.99) came home with me one day and some soft cream yarn that I got at a yard sale this summer for $.10. I added this free printable bunting and some bakers twine and a few foam letters I already had from Target's dollar section and what I got was a super cute, super inexpensive Summer wreath.

Then came October - time for a wreath update!  Using the same wreath "base" I simply removed the bunting and added some fall-colored felt flowers using 5 sheets of pre-cut felt from Michaels ($.29/each) that I made using this tutorial.  I few dabs of hot glue and Voilà! Our new Fall wreath!

A few tips:

To make the yarn wreath I simply tied the yarn in a knot (at the back) and just started wrapping.  I was kind of careful to keep the yarn from overlapping because I wanted a flat, clean surface. 

In the felt flower tutorial she says to use (6) petals per flower - I only used (5) and I think they turned out great.

Use a neutral color like white, cream or even a light blue as the base color of your wreath so that you can carry it through each season without having to change anything but what goes on it.
