Gallery Wall Part 1

As we were changing (updating) our family room, I knew that my old "country look" was going! I wanted a display wall on one side of the room.

before

after

It took me a while to begin ~ trying to figure out what I wanted to display and exactly how to position each item.  I decided that I would find items that had meaning to me and my family.  I wanted white frames with a couple of gold ones to match the gold in my mirror.
Once everything was matted and framed, I used a great idea from here.  I cut paper the exact size of each piece and used blue painter's tape ~ this way I could get a good idea of placement.

I could change my mind easily!
Once the items were spaced correctly and leveled, we could put a nail right into the paper.  We easily tore off the paper and hung each frame.

We slowly began adding each item until the wall was complete.

Next week I will share some of my favorites from the wall. Pin It

Looks great! I did that with the paper one time with a difficult arrangement. Works well!

Looks great! I've been seeing that paper - before hanging the frames tip everywhere lately! Can't wait to try it out.
