Fabric Flower Canvas Wall Art Tutorial

Wow ~ that is a long title, but I just didn't know what else to call it!  And I do know that fall is officially here, but flowers still make me happy!  In my stash of supplies I found a 8" x 10" canvas and decided to use fabric flowers and embroidery stitches to make a wall art that is "Just happy"!

Supplies:
8" x 10" canvas
8" X 13" fabric for top (I used Anna Griffin multi diamonds)
6" x 13" fabric for bottom (I used a bright green solid color)
13" white ribbon in cotton
small pieces of green rick rack
Embroidery Transfer Pen (available at Joann's)
material for flowers (I will provide a tutorial for the two different flowers later this week.)

I was originally going to make ribbon flowers.

 Directions:
Sew the top and bottom fabrics together using a 1/4" seam.

Press the seam open.
Using your erasable fabric pen, trace the letter for "just
happy."  I hand embroidered the words with a stem stitch.  (Template is at the end of the tutorial.)
Decide the placement of your flower, and sew (or glue) the rick
 rack in place.
Stitch the lace over the seam line catching the bottom of the
 rick rack as you sew.

Attach the flowers by using sewing on the buttons.
