Homemade gingersnaps ~ so much tastier than the store bought variety ~ and, boy, do they make the kitchen smell good!
4 dozen cookies
Ingredients:
2 cups flour
1 tablespoon ginger
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup sugar + 1/4 cup for rolling
3/4 cups butter
1 egg
1/4 cup molasses
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Sift flour, ginger, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
Cream butter until soft ~ gradually add 1 cup sugar.
Beat in egg and molasses.
Add sifted dry ingredients and blend well.
Form into 1 inch balls and roll in sugar.
Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 12-15 minutes.
