One Pan Chocolate Cake

Yesterday Kendra made a delicious pasta dinner, so I thought today I would bring chocolate cake for dessert.  This recipe for "Wacky Cake" was given to me by my friend Kathy many years ago.  I found it when I was sorting through some old papers and decided to try it again.  It has to be the easiest chocolate cake ever ~ one pan to mix and bake ~ honestly!  Add a little cream cheese frosting, and you have a simply delicious dessert!

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
3 tablespoons cocoa
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 tablespoon vinegar
6 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 cup water

Directions:
Sift dry ingredients together into an ungreased 8" or 9" cake pan.

Make three wells in the dry mixture.  In the first one put the vanilla, the second the vinegar, and the third the oil.

Pour the cup of water over all, and stir well.

Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes in the same pan in which it was mixed.

Cool.
Ice with Cream Cheese Frosting
Blend together
1 1/2 teaspoons butter
1 1/2 teaspoons shortening
1 cup confectioner's sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 oz. cream cheese

And enjoy!
