There are several excellent recipes on-line for a 5-Flavor Pound Cake. Since I wanted mine to be multi-purpose ~ dessert with fresh fruit ~ toasted for breakfast, I eliminated one of the extracts.
The result is a cake that is dense and absolutely delicious!
The flavorings that I used: vanilla, coconut, lemon, and butter
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups butter, softened to room temp.
3 cups sugar
5 eggs
3 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon coconut extract
1 teaspoon lemon extract
1 teaspoon butter extract
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder.
In a measuring cup, whisk together the milk and the 4 extracts.
In a mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time. Beat in flour mixture alternately with milk mixture, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Spoon mixture into prepared pan.
Bake for 1 1/2 - 1 3/4 hours or until the cake tests done.
Cool for 10 minutes on a wire rack. Remove.
And enjoy! ♥ Printable recipe
