Kendra has shared pictures of Layla's lovely "Big Girl Room." It is so pretty with its shades of pink ~ just perfect for our little princess.
My grandson Cole's room also has the whimsy of the outdoors in warm browns and greens. I asked Emily if she would describe his room, so today's post is from my talented daughter-in-law.
We had settled on the oval stokke crib to fit into our small NYC apartment, and didn’t know the sex of our baby. There aren’t a ton of colors to choose from for bedding, so we figured dark brown as the main color could work either way – brown and blue or brown and pink, depending on the sex. It turned out we had a baby boy, so the dwell studio dots chocolate crib set was what we went with. I found a tree appliqué that we loved, so green became the accent color instead of blue. From there, a tree/owl theme started to emerge. And that’s where Noni came in!
She made these 4 pieces of wall art - beautiful owls on canvas, keeping with the brown theme in the room (and green accents). I love that they are all unique and different, but go together beautifully. I also love that they were made with love by Cole’s Noni! Also in this picture if one of her signature pieces – a pillow with a dark brown backing, with owls and trees of course.
Cole’s matching chair and growth chart are courtesy of Aunt Kendra and family. Love how the trees go perfectly in the room!
Found the monkey print at Bed, Bath and Beyond for my little monkey, the colors are spot-on and that is one of his nicknames! The lamp is from Pottery Barn Teen.
Great place for books courtesy of Land of Nod, Cole loves choosing our book for the night.
The wall above is enhanced by another Noni work-of-art – an alphabet sampler that I just love. The dark brown background fits perfectly with the room.
Pottery Barn Kids letters, have thought about painting them white but like the dark brown.
The tree appliqué is from from Roomates, I love that this appliqué has traveled to our new home from Cole’s wall in NYC.
WallCandy Arts flutterflies fly out of the tree. I made the birds nests with nests I found at Jamali in the 28th St. Flower Market in NYC. I put some moss in them and hot-glue gunned green birds (Christmas tree ornaments).
Cole (and I) love his owl room!!
