Hi! Its been awhile since I've posted in our wreath series and since I finally got around to updating ours last week I thought I'd share my latest creation.
I started with the same Styrofoam base, white and green yarn and a few sheets of felt.
To make the flowers I cut one large circle out the felt for the base and then cute 5-6 smaller circles for the petals. I simply folded the smaller ones in half and hot glued the inside and outside of the fold. I (loosely) used this tutorial. I repeated this with all each color of felt until there was nothing but scraps left. And I used those scraps to make the inside of the each flower.
I also cut out a few leaves to add in underneath the flowers.
Yay Spring!!

Wreath Season by Season - Summer 2014 Edition
I don't know about you but I'm super glad that not only is Summer here but it actually feels like Summer too! With the warm weather comes a new wreath covered with one of my favorite summery treats - pineapple!!
I found this adorable pineapple printable and thought I would make a garland with it...but then decided the colors would be perfect on our front porch!
I took off all the branches and birdies from my Spring wreath and simply glued the pineapples on.
I'm not sure how long the cardstock will hold up once it gets more humid...but hopefully it will get us through the Summer!!
Man, we need some new exterior lights - ours look so mini with those monstrous ferns!!!
xo!

I printed on cardstock and cut out the fruit.

Wreath Season by Season - Spring 2014 Edition
It sure doesn't feel like Spring around here (snow and sleet yesterday) but in hopes of actual warm weather coming - and staying I finally got around to making a new wreath for our front door. Just a $3.00 worth of supplies and about 20 minutes of work was all it took!
I love how bright it looks against the yellow door. I'm just crossing my fingers that there is a lot more Spring and a lot less cold in our future!!

I started with the same white yarn-wrapped base and just added a few sections of teal blue yarn to break up all the white. Then I used a hot glue gun to attach a couple broken tree branches and added the little paper birds (cupcake toppers from Michaels) and leaves (I cut from the box the toppers came in) onto the branches.
I love how bright it looks against the yellow door. I'm just crossing my fingers that there is a lot more Spring and a lot less cold in our future!!
