Gearing Up for "The Grind" with Bonobos

Hi there and happy Monday!  So we usually don't do many guy-related posts 'round here, but when I was contacted by Jason at Bonobos to promote their "The Grind" Giveaway - a chance to win a whole week’s worth of clothing to spice up your man's office style - I thought it would be a pretty good time to start. 

Bonobos philosophy is that style shouldn’t be complicated. Looking your best doesn’t need to be hard. It’s really about being yourself and finding what fits. Amen!  Both my brother and sister's boyfriend are avid Bonobos fans so I've seen the clothes in action and they are seriously nice.

The giveaway prizes are pretty spectacular - a Foundation Suit, five Weekday Warrior pants, and five Daily Grind dress shirts- with a total retail prize value of $1,665.

How I'd Wear It - I Actually Wore it!

Two weeks ago I posted about my virtual Valentine's Day date night outfit.  Well I actually wore it and it was really cute!  I highly recommend H&M for super inexpensive "going out" clothes.  And booties are my new fave - who knew?!?

How I'd Do Valentine's Date Night

Hi there and hello!  So, Scott and I have been pretty good about doing a monthly date night starting in August on our anniversary.  Well January was a bust, just being so super busy and all this stinkin' snow the month just slipped away before we could even make plans.  But with Valentine's Day only a few short days away we have reservations set and another cool couple to share it with (my sister and her bf).

 

And since a BIG night out has been on my mind I put together the little virtual outfit below - and actually ended up buying almost everything listed.  Did mention I have like zero going out clothes?  So this is a pretty big deal for me.

Gold Stamped Initial Necklace - Etsy  (this is the one thing I passed on but I would have gotten a 'S' - love it)

I'll probably add a tiny necklace and some black tights.  Speaking of tights have you ever heard of Pretty Polly?  Super cool/sexy/different panty hose and tights...I especially love these.

Wishlist Wednesday - How I'd Do Date Night

Lately, Scott and I have been making an effort to do a "date night" once a month and that can mean anything from a couple hours at the movies or late night dinner and drinks.  Either way I'm not big on getting too dressed up and definitely hate heels so the two options below would make me very happy!  Obsessed with the vintage blouse!

Fun Finds - Fashionable Insects

Insects ~ such a part of everyday life in the summer.  With the exception of mosquitoes, ticks, and the ones who find it necessary to feast in my flower beds, I find many "bugs" a comforting part of the warm weather.  As long as they remain in their own inhabitant (outside of my home), I love watching an ant carrying an item that probably weighs twice its size, a bee finding the nectar and pollen in the a flower, or a spider creating an intricate web.  And, of course, the night sky lit up by fireflies.  Now with the advent of the 17-year cicada, summer is about to get a little noisy!

To celebrate the "Time of the Insect," I have found some fashionable ways they have been used.
