Happy Weekend and a Few Other Things
This week completely got away from me! Sorry for the lack of posts here but between getting ready for Layla's birthday on Saturday and hosting family this weekend I just didn't have time to get a proper post up yesterday. So today (late today) I thought I's share that today we finally dyed eggs and made the flowers above with the egg carton and paint...I saw something on Pinterest about these awhile ago but didn't really follow a tutorial to make them...just cut, shape, paint and glue - pretty easy and cute! Thinking about using these on the food tables this weekend!
I also finally got around to creating a vintage shop on Etsy, Hadley Boo Vintage. It only has a few listings (transferred from Layla Lou Studio) but I'm excited to start adding to it. Having a shop exclusively for vintage items has been something I have wanted to for awhile since I love hunting for vintage pieces but don't always have a place to put them!
Well I hope you all have a great weekend, I'll be back here and there next week (Spring Break for the kids) since we'll be traveling up to NJ to see how the shore house is progressing - cannot wait!
Bye!

Bunnies ~ Garland and Pillow
Although the snow is falling outside, I decided to keep SPRING front and center today!
When I saw the sweet little bunny paper garland in Kendra's Etsy shop, I decided it was time for new collaborative project. Our last one was based on Paper Dolls.
These 8 adorable bunnies available at Layla Lou Studio were created out of white paper. On each one's dress is a small hand cut and water-colored heart in pinky red.

I decided to use the bunny chain to create a coordinating pillow. Using Kendra's idea of bunnies in a row, I appliqued 5 pink polka dotted bunnies on gray fabric.
Pink striped cording and my sweet granddaughter Hadley's name completed the project.
I think that together they could make the perfect addition to an Easter basket!
Hope you enjoy! ♥

Reworked Vintage
Hi! Hope you had a great weekend...ours was snowier than expected but the girls loved it and I got a little quiet time while Scott took them outside to play. I was finally able to finish this book - which was really good and sad.
Today, I thought I'd share the latest addition to my Etsy shop - woven wall hangings. I start out using a vintage piece as the base, the two below were rag rugs, and then update/embellish them by adding yarn of varying thickness and color. When I started this post on Friday night the top one was available to purchase but it sold Saturday morning which was kind of exciting because it was my first listing like this!
The piece below I made for our front living room/kids library. You might remember I had arrows made out of paint chip samples there before. I decided this little corner needed to be brighter and simpler so this woven piece with it's flat cream base and shocks of color here and there does the trick.
Now, since my first piece sold, I'm on the hunt for new vintage pieces! Wish me luck!

Valentine's for Daddy
This is my third (and final) Valentine's Day-related post - promise!
I think I'm safe posting about the cards the girls and I made and bought for him since I don't think he makes it to this site too often: ) It used to annoy me, he'd ask me a question and I'd say SEERIOUSLY? DO YOU EVER READ MY BLOG?!? But for today's purposes that's just fine.
I've had this maze game since Christmas - I think it was supposed to be a stocking stuffer that didn't make it in. So happy I kept it (and remembered where I put it) because it worked perfectly for this Valentine from the girls.
I love finding unique/funny cards on Etsy. Last year I got Scott this card and this year I found one from the same shop that was equally funny/true.
Well, I hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day and long weekend!!
See you back here on Tuesday!

We're Back! An Etsy Treasury Wishlist
Hi all - we missed you! This break was by far the longest one we've taken and I have to admit it's probably going to take a little while for us both to get back into the swing of things and daily posts but it will happen! The last month of summer is so bittersweet with school starting and seeing family less but also getting to see the excitement on Layla's face while on her way to Kindergarten (how did that happen??) So today I'm sharing a treasury I made earlier this week celebrating the end of summer and the beginning of new things!! See you later this week!! And thanks for sticking with us!!

My Mom is Amazingly Creative.
Hi! If you've read this blog for any length of time you have seen the hand-sewn beauties that my mom whips up regularly. Her pillows sell like crazy, Simplicity has recently renewed her pattern contract and she is ALWAYS making something she knows will bring a smile to the faces of her grandchildren (and children).
Sprinkling a little magic dust will make veggies a little tastier, make the dark a little less dark, make doctors' appointments a little less scary, make booboo hurt a little less, and make dreams a little better!
Her latest creation is a magical Super Hero POWch. The idea behind it is simple, kids don't always like going to sleep or eating their veggies - sometimes they need a little extra push - a little invisible "super power dust".
Sprinkling a little magic dust will make veggies a little tastier, make the dark a little less dark, make doctors' appointments a little less scary, make booboo hurt a little less, and make dreams a little better!
My Mom is always telling me how in awe she is of my creativity or decorating skills...when in reality the things she designs and dreams up on a daily basis and throughout her life have given me that creative drive - and it's the best gift I have ever received.
Thanks Mom!!
xxoo!

Boy + Girl Paper Dolls
Hi there and sorry for the post-less last few days. I've been working on a few projects and when I'm in the creative "zone" it's hard for me to sit and write.
Today I thought I'd share the most recent addition to my Etsy shop. I have gotten requests for boy paper doll garlands in the past, but just last week I had one for a boy girl paper chain for a baby shower for twins - cute! The little boys remind me of Tom Sawyer!!
We're bracing for a HUGE snowstorm here! Stay warm!!
xo!

New Custom Pillows
I really enjoy working with a customer to create a "just right" pillow for a special little one. Finding fabrics that coordinate with a décor is really satisfying.
Today I thought that I would showcase a few of the custom pillows that are now available in my little store.
A Personalized Eiffel Tower
A Personalized Star
Personalized Balloons
Personalized Robot
And a Personalized Dump Truck

Chambray All Day
Hello! I promise to do full week of "real" posts next week. This Thanksgiving being so close to Christmas business has me all messed up. So today I'm sharing a little treasury I made on Etsy the other day that I'm kind of in love with. Indigo and chambray are two of my favorites right now.
See you Monday!
